Circus practice requires a lot of space, very high ceilings and the installation of anchor points to secure various pieces of equipment.

Because of its size, the building's nave is the ideal place to create circus shows. Other creative industries in the region also appreciate the opportunity to explore the verticality of a venue, as well as access to high-ceilinged rooms and a hanging system for suspending objects and sets, making characters fly, projecting onto large surfaces, and so on.

In addition to the high-ceilinged rooms, the building contains a variety of smaller rooms of varying configurations. These are excellent potential creative laboratories for a multitude of art forms.

Ultimately, the creation center project aims to enable teams from several productions of different sizes to rehearse simultaneously in the building. Similarly, one of the key objectives of this initiative is to design a circus-friendly venue where creators from all horizons - circus, theater, dance, music, visual arts, digital arts, video games... - can meet, exchange and create to enrich their artistic practice.

Thanks to the dynamism of the project team, Saint-Charles church is increasingly becoming a place of exchange and outreach. The creators working there have the opportunity to invite the public to come and see the fruit of their work, whether in the form of a presentation as part of a creative residency, a laboratory, an exhibition, an album launch, and so on. The aim is to make it a place where artists take risks, test new ideas and talk with the public. Meeting after meeting, the Quebec City community gradually rediscovers Saint-Charles Church in a new light. Likewise, tailor-made artistic performances highlighting the beauty of the site (e.g. in situ shows, art trails) are gradually becoming part of the cultural offering of this unconventional creative venue.

Particular attention is paid to highlighting interesting architectural elements and heritage objects. A variety of activities (e.g. shows, guided tours) are organized so that the community can have access to them while learning more about Limoilou's history.
